Book Review Monday- April 19th

BOOK REVIEW MONDAY- THREE NEW BOOKS WERE READ AND HERE IS WHAT I THINK!!!

Book reviewed- Last Chance by Viki Lyn

Book Blurb- Aric Christian is the wildly smart PhD candidate specializing in a willowy body bordering on thin, slight hips, and even slighter waist, Aric's hard muscles and steel strength bends but doesn't break. Long blackish hair dips in his hazel eyes when he's not wearing his rimless glasses. At times, he turns into quite a different creature, and is working desperately to seek a cure.

Stu Hamilton is the wildly popular college wide receiver, and big man on He's tall, broad shouldered, finely tuned and has broad hands, perfect to jump and catch the ball. He's all muscle and grace and blue, blue eyes. Mussed blond hair layered and tapered down to his nape fuels his reputation as the guy who breezes through life. Hidden from his friends is his family's secret - he's from a long line of vampire-slayers. Turning away from that life, he wants nothing to do with blood feuds, men of the dark night and killing.

Then Aric bumps into Stu, or rather his football, and their lives are forever intertwined. Will these born enemies find a way toward love?

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Male/male sexual practices.

My Rating- 4/ 5

My Thoughts- First book from this author and I thought I would give it a try after reading the blurb. Glad I did. The author put a little twist on the old vampire story.

Can you cure yourself of being a vampire? Gosh, I hope not but that is just me I guess.

This story had plot, a good character connection, and heat.

I enjoyed this story from the first. I’m not a fan of having an overly famine male but it worked for this story and I wouldn’t change it. The author left an opening for Stu’s brother to have his own book- and I hope to see it.

Book Reviewed- Rock Bottom by Celia Kyle

Book Blurb- Sometimes life gets in the way of love and then heartache gets in the way of life. In the middle of the maelstrom, Jeremy finds that alcohol numbs the pain and keeps any pleasure at bay. For pleasure can overpower the pain and force him to forget the one he loved, the one he killed. Sometimes it takes hitting rock bottom to force a man to climb back to the top

My Rating- 3.75/ 5

My Thoughts- This is the second book I’ve read from this author.

I was surprised by this book not really knowing how the book would go. Jeremy makes some mistakes but than again so does the people around him. The book just got better and better as it went along. It’s a quick read but the plot and characters carry you through.

Nice little break from some of the same ol same ol books.

Book Reviewed- A Game of Chances by T.C. Blue

Book Blurb- Book one in the Farmingdale Gentleman's Club Series

Two men, too many secrets, and even more situations trying to keep them apart. Can love really conquer all?

A meeting brought on by seeming coincidence throws Marcus and Tanner together. After becoming friends, certain truths are revealed, leading to feelings of betrayal as well as a of danger.

Tanner has more secrets than one man ever should, not the least of which is that he's an operative for a gray-ops organisation that's something of a family business. Sharing even that much information could kill more than just his friendship with Marcus. When one misstep on Tanner's part plants possible danger in Marcus' lap, he does what he needs to do.

Marcus doesn't know that Tanner is after the man Marcus used to date, but he for damned sure finds out, and that's just the start of things. When a computer disc and men with guns come into play, Marcus has some decisions to make. Like whether he can forgive Tanner for making him love a lie... and how far Marcus is willing to go to secure his own happiness.

My Rating- 4.75/ 5

My Thoughts- Best book I’ve read in a long time.

There wasn’t one moment that I got tired or bored with this book. And it is a novel so I didn’t have to stop and take my time so I wouldn’t read it to fast.

The unique plot has each page drawing you into the story. The heat is there and promises to get better with each scene.

This looks to be the first in a series and I am already hooked on what looks to be an exciting series of books! This is a must read and I’ll even say a must read again.

Well worth the time and money spent!
